Directed by Jessica St. Vil-Ulysse, the mission of Ka Nu Dance Theater is to promote change and peace in Haiti, by sharing with the world: Haitian heritage, history, culture, and educating our spectators on the current conditions in Haiti through contemporary, modern and Afro-Caribbean dance. Ka Nu Dance Theater hopes to be able to continue to share “our situation” or better yet “Ka Nu” through dance, theater and song. Ka Nu Dance Theatre began performing in October 2003. They made their debut at the “International Dance of Colors Festival”, that was held at the 14th Street Educational Alliance Theater.
