While, given the magnitude of the tragedy, we cannot guarantee the return of loved ones and, pursuant to the mandates of the Haitian Government, we cannot exhume from mass burial sites, the American DMORT teams have been given permission to retrieve remains in other situations and undertake their returns to the United States. Time is of the essence, as the center may be closing soon. Families with American Citizens missing or presumed deceased in Haiti are urged to contact the US State Department at : 1-888-407-4747.
