Rally In Front Of Former President Bill Clinton's Harlem NY Office

A broad base coalition of over 30 church and civic organizations from around the tri-state area led by the Haiti Solidarity Network of the North East will assemble outside of the Harlem Office of Special UN Envoy to Haiti former President Bill Clinton.

As we embark on the 1 year anniversary of the devastating 7.0 earthquake that ravaged the small island of Haiti, killing an estimated 500,000 people and leaving millions on top of millions displaced in makeshift tent city camps without adequate sanitation and food/water supplies.

In addition to the lack of basic necessities, woman are being kidnapped and raped in the camps and Minustah, the UN's peacekeeping brigade from France has been in Haiti since 2003 are committing countless human rights violations on the vulnerable people on a regular basis.

Since the initial diagnosis in October, over 3000 people have died from a cholera outbreak and thousand more have contracted the deadly bacteria that many allege was caused by Nepal UN peackeeping brigade when raw sewerage was dumped into the Aribonite River from their camp.

Over $10 billion in aid was pledged from 59 donor countries and almost a year later, little or no progress has been made and rubble still domintes the landscape in Haiti.
